Referral Marketing Disclosure
A plain statement of how Newman Homes gets some of its leads and what that means for a homeowner.
Where a project comes through a referral or introduction service, that relationship is disclosed here rather than left implied. The disclosure exists so nobody is surprised later about how their enquiry reached this company.
What it does not change is the work or the price. The contract is between the homeowner and Newman Homes, and the number in it does not move because of where the introduction came from.
This referral marketing disclosure explains what can happen to your inquiry if we are not the right company for your project.
We are writing it plainly because the Federal Trade Commission expects material connections to be disclosed clearly, and because you should know before you send us your phone number.
What This Referral Marketing Disclosure Covers
Newman Homes looks at your project first. Every inquiry that reaches us is reviewed by us, for us. We are a builder, not a lead broker.
Sometimes we are not the right fit. The project may be outside our service area, outside what we do, or beyond what a shop our size should take on. Our schedule may simply be full.
In those cases we may refer you to another contractor, drawn from a network of companies that have been screened before being included.
We may be compensated for that referral. That is the material connection this page exists to disclose. Any compensation comes from the contractor, never from you.
What It Costs You
Nothing. A referral is free to the homeowner and it creates no obligation.
You are never required to hire anybody we introduce you to, and you can end the conversation at any point.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your information as a lead to whoever pays most. A referral goes to one screened contractor, not to a list of them.
We do not handle money between you and another contractor. Any agreement you sign is directly with that company.
We do not supervise or guarantee another contractor's work. They are responsible for their own contract, their own insurance, and their own results.
We make no state licensing claim about any contractor we refer you to. Maine has no licensing standard for general contractors or builders, and we will not imply otherwise about anybody.
How to Opt Out
Tell us. Say so on the phone, write it in the form, or email info@newmanhomesme.com at any time, and your inquiry stays with us alone.
If we cannot take the project and you have opted out, we will tell you that and leave it there.
